Every operator licence that grew this week.

An operator cannot run a single extra lorry without its licence saying so. Each application to add vehicles, trailers or an operating centre is published with numbers and a date, weeks before the decision. Read together, they are the most complete list there is of which fleets in Britain are about to get bigger.

New operator applies for a first international licence

  • First application: 6 vehicles and 10 trailers, standard international.
  • One operating centre, on an industrial estate in East Anglia.
  • A company formed in 2025; no other licence in its group.
  • Objections close 16 November 2026.

A fleet starting from nothing: every vehicle, trailer, tracker, policy and driver is still to be bought. First licences are rarer than variations, and the supplier who calls before the decision is usually the first to.

What puts a card here
An operator applies to raise its authorised vehicles or trailers, or to add a centre.
When the money moves
Applications are published weeks before the decision; purchases follow the grant.

What an operator licence application says about a fleet.

An operator licence application is the one public record that gives a fleet's size before and after, with the date its decision falls. The card adds what no single notice can: the operator's other licences, its centres and the company behind all of them.

The size of the market first, without names: Hauliers expanding in the UK, counted weekly on CapexRadar, the engine behind Stanfell.

  1. Whether it is a first licence or a variation, and which kind: restricted for the operator's own goods, standard for carrying for others, international for work abroad.
  2. Every operating centre on the licence and what each is authorised for, so a new yard shows before anything is built on it.
  3. The operator's other licences and the company behind them, so a fleet spread over several licences reads as one buyer.

Operator licence leads: your questions.

Are these new operators or existing ones growing?
Both. A first application is a new fleet starting from nothing; a variation is an existing fleet asking for more. Most of the value is in variations, because an operator adding vehicles already has customers and a reason to buy now.
Do you cover the whole of Great Britain?
Yes, every traffic area, as its notices are published. A card carries the region and the postcode of the centre, so you can keep to your own territory.
Why is an application worth anything before it is granted?
Because the operator has already decided to grow and is telling you by how much. Most applications are granted, and the weeks before the decision are when a supplier can still be the first to call rather than the fifth.
