Why does a new waste permit mean fire detection?
Sites storing combustible waste have to show how they will prevent and fight fires before they may accept it, and that usually means detection and often suppression. The card tells you when the permit requires it.
Is a weighbridge always needed?
Not always, but almost every site that takes waste by the tonne needs to weigh it in. A first permission for tens of thousands of tonnes a year is very rarely run without one.
