Water and effluent treatment sales leads, UK

The sites that have just been allowed to treat more.

A site that is going to treat more, discharge more or meet a tighter limit has to be given permission first, in writing, with numbers. Between that permission and the first order there is a design stage, and it is the only point at which a supplier can be specified rather than priced against two others.

Dairy site cleared to treat a third more effluent

  • Permitted discharge rises from 450 to 600 cubic metres a day.
  • Varied 9 September 2026; the new limit takes effect on grant.
  • No treatment technology named in the variation.
  • The site belongs to a group that varied two other sites this year.

150 cubic metres a day of new treatment capacity with nothing specified yet, at a group that is doing this repeatedly. The specification is open, and the same buyer will be back.

What puts a card here
A site is cleared to discharge more, to treat more or to meet a tighter limit.
When the money moves
Design and procurement usually run six to eighteen months.
You sell
effluent and water treatment, pumps and tanks, processing and abatement plant

Three things the card tells you that a list cannot.

The permission is the start of it. What makes the call worth making is what the other records say about the company holding it, 13 of them read together.

  1. The capacity before and after in cubic metres a day, not in the units of the record.
  2. Whether a treatment technology has already been named, which tells you if the specification is open or closed.
  3. Who owns the site, and what the group behind it has done at its other sites this year.

Who reads this one.

  • Effluent and water treatment integrators
  • Pumps, tanks, dosing and filtration
  • Membrane and biological treatment
  • Sludge handling and dewatering
  • Process engineering contractors

Questions about this one.

Does this include the big water companies' programmes?
No. Those are let through long frameworks to a handful of contractors, and a card would not help you win them. This is industrial and commercial sites: food, drink, chemicals, waste and manufacturing, where the buyer is the site itself.
How early is this compared with a tender?
Usually months earlier, and most of these sites never tender publicly at all. They ask two or three suppliers they already know, which is why being known before the design starts matters.
